GUIDED LEARNING

One of the best ways to facilitate learning is to provide a guided learning handout.  The handout should focus on at least 4 areas.

1)  Accomplishing learning outcomes, which indicate what students should be able to do when they have finished the course or course topic.

2) Mastering fundamental concepts which are the basic units of knowledge upon which in-depth learning is constructed.

3) Achieving learning objectives which, if achieved, enable the student to grasp and understand the fundamental concepts and accomplish the learning outcomes. They should be written in clear, measurable terms.

4) Answering probing questions which engage students in critical thinking and stimulate deep learning.
